Le Touquet Market
There is a wonderful outdoor and covered market (Marche Couvert) that takes place every Thursday and Saturday morning in the market place on the rue de Metz (south of the rue St Jean). The market is a vibrant colourful places that open your senses. Stalls laden with the fresh vegetables, local cheeses, great fish and home produced goodies entice you to fill your shopping bag.
There is a also a fish market which takes place in Etaples and there are many good fresh fish restaurants nearby. There is also a great sea food shop called “POISSONERIE RAMET” in Le Touquet on the rue de la Paix near the crossroads with rue de Metz.
The Marche Couvert is a very impressive place and building. Food stalls in the permanent covered market are laden with the fresh vegetables, local cheeses, jams, sweets, great fish and home produced goodies. My favourite is the spit roasted chicken with roasted potatoes, an ideal takeaway for lunch. The surrounding area flourishes into an interesting flea market.
Other Local Markets
There are many other great local markets in the area. If you just want to try something different or it fits better with your plane they are all well worth a visit.
